Established in 2004, Jyotirmoy Public School - Sonarpur (JPS-Sonarpur), located in the southern suburbs of Kolkata, empowers students with holistic education, moulding them into leaders of tomorrow. Over the years, JPS-Sonarpur has evolved as a center of excellence in school education. It was the first initiative to set up an English-medium school in an area adjoining the Sundarbans. Started with only 42 students in 2004, today JPS has 3000+ students and is adjudged as the best CBSE-affiliated School in the district of South 24 Parganas. Having global connections and regular student exchange programs with sister schools across the globe, JPS is well set to nurture the students to grow into future-ready global citizens. In keeping with our ethos of providing affordable English-medium education in remote areas, we are currently opening Jyotirmoy Public School's primary section - Pre-Nursery to Class V - at Oodlabari. This institution shall soon blossom into a Senior Secondary School in very near future. Equipped with advanced facilities, we aim to provide cutting-edge learnings in the foothills of the Himalayas at JPS-Oodlabari. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities both functional and structural, it will be comparable to the best in India. The new school is slated to bring top-class English medium school education to the children of Jalpaiguri and the adjoining districts of Dooars.
