It gives us immense pleasure to share that in 6th International Open Karate Championship (India’s Most awaited & biggest Karate Championship), held at Netaji Indoor Stadium on 30th & 31st July 2022, our students did us proud.

CHAMPION IN TOWN

Jyotirmoy Public School feels extremely glad to announce that KANISHKA BANERJEE of class XI of Jyotirmoy Public School bagged the first position in the All Bengal State Muay Thai Championship under the category of 14-16 years and weight category 50.1-55kg, organised by West Bengal Muay Thai Association and recognised by Bengal Olympic Association which was organised on 26th of June, 2022 at Open Air Theatre, Jadavpur University.

It gives us immense pleasure announcing her victory and we congratulate her for the glory that she brought to us through her splendid performance.

JPS student makes us proud again

In the India Progressive cup, the 2nd Open National Taekwondo Championship 2022 was organized by Knockout Taekwondo Academy India at Dasnagar Alamohan Dass Indoor stadium, Howrah, W.B from 10th June to 12th June, 2022.

A total of 600 players from over 24 states of the country took part in the event. Among them Rudra Halder studying in VB of our school participated in the mega event representing West Bengal and fought in the 38 kg Fresher’s weight category where among 15 participants he won the Gold Medal bringing glory for the state. He defeated another boy from W.B. in the semi-finals and a boy from Tamil Nadu in the finals. He was awarded with a prize of money of Rs. 900 along with a certificate.

Rudra Halder has really made everyone proud through his victory.

Jyotirmoy Public School congratulates Ramit Kayal for winning success by participating in the Children’s Literature, Art and Music Festival organized by Get Set Parent in association with Vishwarang-2021, which has been one of the biggest online children's literature festivals of the year. The event was witnessed by more than 1 million viewers across 20 countries. As a precursor to the event, various competitions were organized for children.

Arohi Sarkar studying in Class II, strikes 3 Gold in the recently held State Championship giving a huge boost to sports enthusiastic kids.

The seven years old inspires through her sports skills in the following events- Road Race:500m, Track Race:500m, Lap:200m; which took place from 11-14 November at the Newtown Clock Tower area. Her beating 5 participants into first place was a moment of pride and we are hoping her to be crowned by the laurels of the National Championship (11-22 December).

Pritha, Soumee qualify for the nationals of The Wild Wisdom Challenge

Two of our students, Pritha Gayen and Soumee Gayen, both of IX B, have qualified for the nationals of The Wild Wisdom Global Challenge, which is an annual quiz initiative that provides a unique opportunity to students to get a deep insight into wildlife, gain knowledge and demonstrate their concern for conservation. The nationals will be held from 8th November, 2021, to 18th of November, 2021.

This year the quiz has been conducted online for students of Classes VI-IX. The event drew participation from 110 students from our school for engaging bouts of live quiz sessions on the 24th of September, 2021.

The Wild Wisdom challenge has been drawing inspiration from the messages and themes from the film – David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet. It is indeed a journey of exploration, understanding and of taking action to build a sustainable planet. Through the quiz, the students connected with the critical messages diffused by Net Zero, Revive the Oceans, Eliminate Waste and Re-Wild the World.

Bidushi corners glory for JPS at inter-school debate

We are thrilled to announce that one of our students -- Bidushi Purkait , Class XII , Commerce has bagged yet another award in the Draupadi Devi Khaitan Memorial Interschool Debate Competition, organised by BDMI and held on 25.9.21, Saturday.

Debating on the topic FACE TO FACE LEARNING IS BETTER THAN ONLINE LEARNING, Bidushi was conferred the PROMISING SPEAKER AWARD (For the Motion) against 19 participating schools and 19 participants. Many many Congratulations Bidushi!

Her partner Ankita Mallick, Class X, debated equally well and we wish both of them the very best in all their endeavours.

We are happy to share the success of our students again

In the Olympiad Exams conducted in 2020-21 by the Science Olympiad Foundation, two of our students have performed exceptionally well and have successfully bagged medals from among millions of students, over 48000 schools and spread across 48 countries.

In the 2020-21 International English Olympiad, Ira Loskar a student of Class XI(Bio Science) then, and presently in Class XII (Bio Science) is not only the School Topper, but has secured the 2nd Rank in Zonal Level (West Bengal Zone-2)and 21st Rank in International Level. She is awarded a Silver Medal for her achievement along with a Gift Voucher of Rs 1000/- and a Certificate of Zonal Excellence.

In the 2020-21 International Mathematics Olympiad, Soumyajit Bhattacharya of Class III then, and presently in Class IV, is not only the School Topper, but has secured the 17th Rank in Zonal Level (West Bengal Zone-2) and 19th Rank in the International Level. He is awarded a Medal of Distinction along with a Certificate of Distinction.

Tanisha Banerjee from Class 6A has secured the 3rd Position among 23 participants in her category in the Hindi Poem Recitation group in the Vertual Inter-school Hindi Feast KAUSHAL 2021 organized by the Ruby Park Public School, New Alipur Branch.

There were 67 participants altogether across different schools from West Bengal.

Her category was judged by Poet Sanjay Shukla . An eminent member of the Hindi Kavya Bebhag.

Our students took part in the Budding Genius Quiz Competition , a virtual National level quiz competition on General Knowledge and Current affairs organized by BCCI (Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry). More than 3500 registrations from 102 reputed institutions all over India took part.

Arohi Sarkar of JPS dazzles at State Roller-Skate Meet

Too small to cross the road on her own but big enough to set the very road she can’t cross on fire. That’s Arohi Sarkar, a Class 1 Section A student of Jyotirmoy Public School.

Arohi Sarkar sheer brilliance at the West Bengal Roller Sports Championship 2020-21 has caught the imagination of sports lover. Competing in the 500 m race, Arohi ruled every inch of the track to bag the gold in the 5-11 years cadet group. As if this was not enough, she delivered another sterling performance in the 500-D speed skating event for another gold, keeping pole position all through before decimating the rest of the field.

With this performance, Aarohi qualified for the national championship.

In the national meet, Aarohi will join fellow student of Jyotirmoy Public School, Md. Faiz Ansari, who bagged three bronze medals in the same state championship, which was organized by the Roller Skating Association of West Bengal.

Class X Student stars for Jyotirmoy Public School at State Roller Skate Championship

Beating a tough field, Mohammed Faiz Ansari reeled off a stellar performance to bag the bronze in both 10,000m and 100m roller-skate road races at the recently held West Bengal Roller Sports Championship 2020-21. With his splendid showing, Ansari has qualified for the national championship.

Ansari, who is a student of Class X, Section A, at the Jyotirmoy Public School, displayed remarkable poise, athleticism and speed to finish third, leaving in his blazing wake seven others as all blade-runners jockeyed for pole position in an intense battle for top honours.

The championship, organized by the Roller Skating Association of West Bengal, was held at the Sports Authority of India rink.

64th West Bengal State School Games 2018 (Kabaddi under 19years)

Jyotirmoy Knowledge Park was the venue partner for the 64th West Bengal State School Games (Kabaddi Under 19 years Boys and Girls) in the presence of many distinguished dignitaries who graced the opening ceremony and closing ceremony and inspired the players. After 3 days of tournament, Hooghly was declared as the Girls' under 19 winners and 1st runners up were South 24 parganas. Boys' under 19 winners were Malda and 1st runners up were Murshidabad.

Jyotirmoy Public School, Sonarpur organized Concord 1.0 a Sino-Indian Cultural Exchange Meet from 3rd to 9th of December, 2016. With open arms the students of Grade VII and VIII, welcomed 15th students along with 3 accompanying teachers from Citic Lake Bilingual International School, Nanhai, Guangdong Province, P.R China.

Summer Camp JKP with South West Medical University, Sichuan, P.R.China

On 19th of July 2018, a twenty one member delegation (comprising of 20 students and 1 teacher) from South West Medical University (Luzhou), Sichuan ,P.R.China visited Jyotirmoy Knowledge Park, Sonarpur, Kolkata for summer camp.
